Erasmus studies/placements
Erasmus programme has been dedicated for the promotion of cooperation of higher schools, assurance of the quality of studies, exchange of students, teachers and administrative personnel, development of intensive studies programmes, and the provision of support to language course hosting.
Only the institutions holding the Erasmus University Charter may participate in the programme. At present, there are more than 3000 EUC holders in Europe. Applications to the European Commission may be submitted by higher education institutions and scientific research establishments recognised on the national level, which have the right to organise doctoral studies together with universities.
The activities administered by the Educational Exchange Support Foundation are as follows:
Erasmus mobility:
- Student mobility: studies, traineeship
Student mobility comprises a period of studies at European universities and traineeship placement at foreign companies. The objective of the activity is the provision of students with an opportunity to perform some practical work, to acquire linguistic and cultural experience, and to learn about European experience in their field of studies. The target group comprises all full-time students of all levels, who are enrolled at higher education institutions. The duration of the activity is from 3 to 12 months.
- Mobility of people with special needs, disability
Students and staff with special needs, disability are encouraged to participate in the Erasmus mobility programme. Persons with special needs, disability are granted additional grants/subsidies for satisfying special personal needs and for a successful implementation of mobility purposes.
In order to receive additional grant/subsidy the student/staff with special needs, disability submits the following to the Foundation:
- An application approved by the Erasmus institutional coordinator of the relevant higher education institution, in which they shall specify their special needs and estimation of the additional costs for the mobility;
- A statement delivered by an authorised instance or institution attesting special needs, disability.
Erasmus intensive language courses (EILC)
Erasmus intensive language courses (hereinafter - EILC) represent the specialised language courses designed to study the less known and rare languages of the countries participating in the Erasmus programme.
The Erasmus programme provides the students selected for Erasmus mobility programme with an opportunity to take part in the EILC courses and to learn a language for 2 to 6 weeks in the country where they go to study. The courses are usually organised prior to the beginning of the studies - in July and August of every year (for those who go to study abroad for the entire academic year or for the autumn semester), and in January and February of every year (for those who go to study abroad for the spring semester).
Intensive programmes (IP)
Erasmus intensive programmes are a short-term study programme joining students and teachers from various universities representing the participant countries. The purpose of the activity is to provide the conditions to students and teachers to work jointly in international groups, in a specifically tailored teaching and learning environment, look at the subject from a different perspective, exchange experience about the contents of the studies and the methods of the studies programmes. The target group of the activity are the institutions of higher education and studies. The intensive programmes (IP) are the short-term undertaking bringing together the students and teachers from different participant countries.
The duration of multilateral projects is 2 to 6 weeks.
